Heyy! My name is Erin, I'm 20 years old & a sophomore in college! I started this blog Nov 2009 in an effort to gain support on my weight loss journey. Since Jan 2010, I've successfully lost 25 pounds & I'm working on my last 15! I like to say I'm a runner and I'm currently signed up for 4 races: St. Patrick's Day 8K (March 19), Illinois 10K (part of the Illinois Marathon, April 30), a triathlon in July and the Rock-n-Roll Half-Marathon in Chicago, August 18t h! My ultimate goal is to run an IronMan!Come read here, add me, subscribe, whatevaa! :D Add me on twitter if you want! @erinkilroy20

How am I losing?
Well, I put on my running shoes 6 days a week and hit the ground runnin. At first I was slow, really slow, but then I started to build up endurance and eventually I've gotten faster & faster. My fastest mile to date is 8:57 from January 2011. I usually only eat the healthiest foods & I avoid processed foods & junk! I've been fast food free since January 1, 2011 & that definitely helps! I also lift weights three days a week :D
Motivation:
I'm a former varsity soccer player who, by the time of my senior year in high school, just didn't care anymore. I didn't care because I was the goalie & I was the best so it didn't matter how fast I was, how strong I was, how big I was or how unhealthy I was, as long as I could stop the ball from going in the net. From August 2008 to November 2009, I successfully (& when I say successfully, I mean unfortunately) packed on 20 pounds. When I went home for Thanksgiving break during my first semester freshman year my dad said to me, "Erin, I'm worried for your health. I think you should lose some weight." It wasn't until January 2010 that his comment really hit home for me: I was squeezing into a size ten, I couldn't run a mile in under 12 minutes to save my life, and my step mom could lift more weight than I could (she's 5'0" and 110 pounds...) Not only that, I had no confidence, no self-esteem and as a result of that, I didn't really have friends that I could count on. I changed my life in January 2010 and it's been getting better & better everyday. Today I'm the happiest I've ever been, I love my body, I have great friends & I'm in the best shape of my life. Now I'm just working on getting in even better shape!
